Melding of the Past and the Present

Bringing back the Sport Kings legendary brand has been a tremendous challenge for Sport Kings LP's Dr. Brian H. Price. "I had to be true to the original concept and respect the lofty position that these cards have in the world of collecting and at the same time, I had to make the kind of cards that today's collectors seek."

In this regard it was determined that the base set would stay true to the 1933 Sport King tradition of 48 cards depicted in the design that made the brand famous. "I also felt that today's collectors want to be able to put their cards in 9-pocket pages and for that reason it was determined to make the base cards in the traditional trading card size and make a base card parallel set that is the size of the original Sport Kings cards."

The insert cards both the autograph cards and the memorabilia card have been designed utilizing the features that today's collectors demand including; hard signed autographs and authentic game-used memorabilia. "Finding game-used memorabilia from athletes of the stature of those included in Sportkings Series A was both a difficult and expensive process" said Price "it has taken close to eighteen months to acquire the rights from the athletes and purchase the needed memorabilia. Many of the memorabilia pieces have come directly from the athletes."

"It has been a collector's dream doing this project for me," Price continued. "Speaking to these athletes about doing this project has been a thrill. Meeting my basketball idol, Bill Russell, having Evel Knievel call me at my home, the stories a too numerous to mention."

"I also wanted to stay true to the original Sport Kings brand in designing the packaging. As you can see the wrapper has been created to give the same feel as the 1933 product."

Sport Kings LP is pleased to announce that we will be attending the 28th National Sports Cards and Collectibles Show in Cleveland August 1st- 5th. Our staff will be there to answer questions about the upcoming release of Sportkings Series A and show samples of the cards. Come by, say hello and let us know who you would choose for future Sportkings releases . We are in booth number 852.

	Celebrate the Legacy with Vintage Paper Cuts
In Sportkings Series A collectors will find eight different Vintage Paper Cut inserts. These eight cards celebrate the 1933 Goudey Sport Kings release with cut signatures of athletes who appeared in that vintage product. Sport Kings LP will continue this insert in future releases.

Distribution Strategy Being Formulated

Sport Kings LP is currently formulating our distribution plans for Sportkings Series A. We are looking for selected direct dealers across North America to give our product the best possible exposure in the hobby. The product is extremely limited so we are not looking for quantity in determining our direct dealers but quality.
